John takes the quickest exit to the streets he can find, the window. Quickly diving through the plane of glass is costly though, several more scratches and cuts are accumulated as well as damaging the much abused suit.

Hey, John, why would you leave such a wonderful place, full of possibilities of helping others? Come on, it is a perfect chance to shine for a certified doctor such as yourself! What are you thinking?

Good thing it was just the ground floor. Just get back in there and start being useful already. Grab some glass with you, it might come in handy if one of the patients needs urgent brain surgery and we don't have a scalpel.

I approve of this course of action, a knight's duty lies just as much in helping people as in bringing righteous vengeance on ne'er do wells.

Well, wandering outside hasn't done us much good, and there are plenty of nice people to meet inside. I also approve of this move.

But... maybe we should avoid those gentlemen we meet earlier, 'kay?

John bends down and scoops a handful of broken glass, each about the size of a coin or smaller, and places it into a pocket of his tattered jacket.

Good boy, now go back inside, these people are waiting. Climb back into the window if you can. We might even find a fellow doctor who came to check out all the ruckus you caused in my absence

Oh, and John, word of advice for the future: please look like a professional. I mean, your face is kind of silly, you have to look and act like a confident and collected person, or others won't let you get to their org...ehm... save them from their various diseases.

Now don't disappoint me and get back in there, it is a matter of life and death at this point

John stumbles his way over to the vacated window and looks inside. You can see a few nurses (both the male and female kind) doing their best to try and bring the situation under control. Mostly by putting right what went wrong by placing the passed out men back into their beds properly. One of the nurses notices you as you put you hand on the window frame to pull yourself in and gives a loud gasp of horror. They start to fuss over your condition keeping you from moving from where you are, leaving you stuck awkwardly in the window frame of the room, and not quite inside.

Okay, John, those people need to understand that you are indeed calm and collected. Make a professional smile, the best one you can manage. Yes, while still in the window frame

Accept their help in getting inside. Part of being a good surgeon is working in team. Let your fellow doctors and nurses get you back inside. Once they do that, tell them that you are a certified doctor and can help. Say that one of these people threw you out of the window, but you still want to help them cure the concussions they have. Suggest a brain surgery.

John, you have quite the smile, I would not have believed it had I not seen it. The Nurses are hanging on your every word and accept the fact that, yes, you are a qualified doctor. They continue to treat your wounds, one of the nurses goes to fetch some disinfectant while the rest continue to clean the room.

It just hit me you were always quite the devil among the female staff in our university days. I still can't believe you abandoned this career, decided to go nuts and employed all those other voices instead. Were you not content with just one person talking in your head?

Oh well, good thing recalling your professional smile at least. Don't muck it up now, we are onto something

Since we are here to help, wasting time is not an option. Now I want you to go and find the person that needs your help more than the others, preferably a person on the brink of death, so my conscience can stay clean after their salvation actually takes place. We saw only people with bone fractures and concussions, so I am lead to believe that we are in something like a traumatology. There might be someone like that out here, perhaps fresh from the operating table

Go ahead and ask one of the nurses, they seem to like you for some reason. Say that you would like to help as much as you can and ask if they can give you a patient to attend to while other doctors are busy. Add that you wrote a dissertation on people in coma and that it is your specialty. Don't say that you wrote it because most of your healthy patients ended up in that state and you needed to write about something

If that doesn't work, just walk around and look at medical histories under the beds and choose the saddest case

As you open your mouth to speak, you are overcome with dizziness, enough so that it forces you to sit down. The Nurses continue to clean the wounds sustained from jump through a plate glass window, but their voices are blurred and distant.

John, you are getting hungry.

Seriously, John, get a hold of yourself and complete your task. We need a test subject patient

Forgoing yet another meal, John? Well if you think you can manage it...

Standing up John moves with authority down the hall to a random room. Walking inside there are three patients laying down in beds, attached to several life prolonging devices. The could of Nurses are still doing their best to bandage you and persuade you to take some rest. You are halfway bandaged and hungry.

Great, this is just what we needed. Okay, John, we need time alone with one of those patients. Life prolonging devices usually mean a comatose state or awaiting for a transplantation organ. Or both. Either way, their families should be ready to accept their departure if it happens, and they themselves are not in much of a state to care. Which means you have a shot at saving them without me dirtying my conscience by assisting you in killing a healthy person yet again. Perfect, simply perfect

Tell the nurses that you are fine and truly sick people come first. Let them finish bandaging and ask for a minute in peace with one of the patients, preferably alone time, the patient is the one further in the room. They are only nurses, so feel free to tell them that you are actually a specialist who studied abroad and if you are able to collect some data about his state, you can pull some strings and ask for additional funding for this hospitals equipment, and in treatment of this person in particular.

Then go and look at the medical records under the bed. Examine your new plaything patient. I don't know about you, John, but I'm getting excited!

Dissmissing your group of Nurses taking care of you was easy, they go back to their work leaving you alone with the patients. As you bend over another wave of dizzyness and weakness washes away the ability to see straight let alone read.

I've got to say, I had no respect in you prior to our little adventure in this hospital, but you've grown in my eyes, John. Maybe it's not too late to go back to being a doctor after all

Anyway, dizziness-shmizziness, it's all majoring on the minors. A qualified man such as yourself can make an operation with his eyes closed and a glass of whiskey in one hand.

We need to bring this man back. How do you bring people back to life? Especially the ones that could not be healed by professional doctors such as yourself? What did they miss, John? How can you do something they couldn't? It's easy, you possess something they all didn't: the power of love. Kiss your patient on the forehead, John, shower him in your affection. If you didn't throw away those pennies you had, I would have asked you to put them on his eyes to show how much you care for his poor soul

Now that the foreplay is over we should start working. This glass you have is not for show, after all. Make sure that the patient is properly sedated. Some people can still feel pain when they're in a state between life and death. Oh, we don't have anything to sedate him with? Never mind then, just turn him a bit and make a clean cut around the crown of the head like you're using a scalpel and don't let him bleed to death yet by using the sheets and the curtain that are at your disposal.

Now brain is something we have not fully researched yet. I intend to do just that. Not out of curiosity, mind you, for the sake of this poor sick person. I believe that all the possible problems with the human body lie within the brain and if we can make it work differently, anything is possible

How can you make it work differently, John? Why, you swap it, of course. That is why we have three patients here. I guarantee that at least one of those patients is going to live and see another day. Now get to work, I'll tell you what you need to know for this operation. If you find gloves lying around use them, if you don't - cut some pieces of fabric or something. The last thing we want is your dirty fingers all around this precious patient of ours

John goes about his preparations, to the letter, fallowing the voice in his head. The kissing, the fawning over of the life about to be reborn. All up until he reaches into his pocket cutting his fingers on the tiny glass shards and sending a jolt of pain down his arm.

Well that was anticlimactic. I'm a fool for anticipating something, John. I'm a fool for placing all my trust in you and believing that you would be able to give a practical ground to years of my research
Go now, indulge in more aimless running about without a clear purpose. Disappoint me more, I'm ready. You can even forget your Hippocratic Oath since you already burned your surgeon license with your house.

You know, it's a shame you didn't requisition a scalpel or a bonesaw or something. Those might have come in handy, if more of our mysterious nemesis' henchmen show up.

Ok,time to use statistics and probability(and out of the box thinking) to find our target.Bunny hop around the place and read all the name tags, name plates, name papers,or even named coffee mugs.We are looking for someone with a name(first or last)of hedge, scrub, bush, thicket or shrub.Or maybe even a variation of those.

And if that fails, well then its time to get creative.

A last name of Scrub, that is, not just wearing scrubs. Knowing John, that might be confusing for him.

John, you are going to have to fill me in on this plan of yours. I mean, as entertaining as watching you jump gamely around the room is you simply must let me know why you are looking for those kind of names. I mean you found one, a Norman Bush one of the patients further in the room, but what do you want to do with him?
