I pegged something was wrong, but they laid it out way better than I expected.
I knew there was gonna be something I didn't see coming, and yet I was still unprepared for the reality. The worst part is it is SO EASY TO MISS, and the scenes they flash back to are NOTHING NEW.
That it was pancakes that were Akechi's downfall makes me giggle, though.
Also I think the bad ending is if you try and make a deal by selling out people, then the plan fails with predictable results.
I believe so, though I did not try it. I almost ended up picking the bad route, though, because my read of the situation wasn't that I was selling out friends, but rather that Sae was already mostly on my side and it was meant to be a measure of trust...? Also, what the denizens of the Velvet Room said just before about "remember your bonds" was making me lean along those lines.
Except then it pops up with "Is this really a good idea?" and I immediately recognized it could be a good/bad ending trigger and reconsidered. Kind-of glad I did - I wouldn't like being shot for real.
